How we use this information
Consent notice for Youth Alumni registration · version youth-v2-2026-11
About this registration
Nan Hua Primary School Alumni Association is a society registered in Singapore under the Societies Act. We ask for your consent because your child is under 18.
What we collect: your child's name as it appears on their birth certificate or NRIC, their date of birth, the years they joined and left Nan Hua Primary School, their class on leaving if you give it, and their email address and mobile number if they have them. We also collect your name, your relationship to the child, your email address and your mobile number.
Confirming that your child attended the school: after you register, we email you a link to upload a photo of your child's PSLE results slip or certificate. We use it only to confirm your child's name, school and examination year. Please cover the identity number and the results before taking the photo; we do not want them. An automated service reads the name, school and year from the image, and a Committee volunteer checks them. The image is deleted as soon as the check is done, and in any event within 60 days of your registration. We keep only a record that the check was done, when, and by whom.
Why we collect it: to keep your child connected to the school community, to let them know about alumni and school events they may wish to attend, and to invite them to apply for membership of the Association when they are eligible.
What this is not: registering does not make your child a member of the Association. Under our Constitution, students currently attending secondary school, a centralised institute or a junior college cannot be admitted as Members. There is no fee and no obligation.
How we contact you: while your child is under 18, we will normally contact you rather than them. If your child has given their own email or mobile, we may also contact them directly about alumni activities.
How long we keep it: if we do not receive the document within 60 days, we delete the registration and email you to say so; you are welcome to register again. Otherwise we keep your child's record until they turn 18, when we ask them to confirm their own details and give their own consent. If they do not respond within 12 months of turning 18, we delete their record. You may withdraw consent at any time before then.
Where it is kept: your child's record is held on servers in Singapore. The certificate image, until it is deleted, is held in the Asia-Pacific region.
Withdrawing consent: email general@nhpsalumni.org.sg and we will delete your child's record.
Who to contact: our Data Protection Officer, by email at general@nhpsalumni.org.sg.
We will not share your child's details with any third party for marketing, and we will not sell them. We may share them with Nan Hua Primary School only where necessary for a school event your child has asked to attend.
